RELATED: Twitch Bot Keeping Track of PS5 and Xbox Series X Stock

The Twitch bot even notifies viewers of when the last stock drop was. The program Streetmerchant is touted as “the world’s easiest, most powerful stock checker” and is available for people to use on their own with Linux, macOS, or Windows. Its features include scraping through multiple websites for stock patterns via API and Chromium, opening browsers when stock is available, and sending notifications to users, in this case, the PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles.

Ritz spoke with Polygon earlier and revealed that the program already helped some of his viewers find consoles when they could. In a Twitter post, he said he was doing this to help people out and mentioned how recently some of his viewers even had success buying some of the next-gen consoles from places like Sam’s Club and GameStop. Of course, there has been some disappointment, with more than a fair share of “OUT OF STOCK” update messages, but he hasn’t stopped running the program.

However, Ritz is still running the channel streams with the Twitch bot to keep helping people. He is even looking at other sources for more stock drops on the consoles. Such as Twitter user Wario64, who is updating his followers with information on available PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles too. Which further displays the challenge for gamers and general consumers to find these next-gen consoles for the holiday season.

Even though it is difficult, people are using every tool they can get their hands on to find a PS5 or Xbox Series X in-stock. The Streetmerchant program is just one method for people to use to find more next-gen consoles outside of scalpers. Gamers still looking to buy a PS5 or Xbox Series X will need to be even more alert than before.
